THE PEDESTRIAN

  • What is the theme of  "The Pedestrian"?
The theme of "The Pedestrian" is form by the exposition, tone, and diction/syntax. One way to describe the theme is mysterious or intense.
  • How does Bradbury get this message across?  How do you know?
I believed Bradbury got his message across because although he experience being stopped by the police he combined his experience about the police  event with his vision on self driving cars. In my opinion he did spread out his message because in a way, he predicted that in the future people would not need to go for a walk, because with the new technology they can just stay home, also he visualized self driving cars which now days we see all of these things happen.
  • Describe the tone of the story.
The tone of the story is composed by the background information. We been told at the beginning of the story that is winter night. The seasons helps built the tone because it's more intense and we can feeling when the characters talk.
  • Why don't more people walk in 2018?
One of the reasons why people do not walk in 2018, is because many cities are no being design for for walking no more, instead they been design for driving. In addition, people has become more lazy that before since all this new technology is getting addicted.
  • What do you think about self-driving cars?
I think self-driving cars are design to improve humanity transportation. However we might see it as dangerous or not safe because we are not yet used to seeing self-driving cars. In my opinion, after people would start using them more often we will consider them as part of us.
  • Do you think that technology such as self-driving cars, screen viewers, smartphones, and ear buds lead to more freedom/independence, isolation, or both?
In my opinion the new technology has been isolating humanity. For example people now days are more focused on whats going on, in the media by using their smartphones or any device. This would not only help to see what's is going on in the world but people has being getting addicted to the devices and we don't like to communicate  in person but we rather like to talk over a screen. Same with new automobiles, we being put into machines and we cannot talk with the people driving around us.
