I Actually Wrote A Poem!

This Poem was originally for my Spanish class, however I wanted to share it because there are experiences from not only my Spanish class but my life in general.

Montag from Fahrenheit 451 is an example of dynamic character since he change as the story goes, this is different from static character because this character usually don't change but stays the same the whol...

Fahrenheit 451 Essay

Fahrenheit 451 was published in the year of 1953 and it contains facts that can be useful now days (2018). While the story unfolds we can notice serval things. For intance the authorities trying to have control over people, technology in society and contributing to the change from the main character (Montag). All of this takes part from Bradbury's technological predictions.  We can connect all this facts into today's society and we can see similar things and this book should make us reflect about what we doing wrong in 2018.             While reading the book, the theme can be seen as how the authorities attempt to control people. This is really important because in the book everyone in the community was always in their Tv's, however now days we can see almost the same but instead of Tv's is the cellphones. For this reason we can see how technology was part of the community but really this can be seen as an strategy from ...

Keep on with the reading Fahrenheit 451

1 Minute is 1 Minute (ignite talks)

Today my whole class (English) had one minute to give a ignite talk on our big question, and I had an idea about my big question but I struggle when explaining to other people. However I think I did good today although I ran out time and I wasn't able to say everything I wanted to say. Our teacher Dr. Preston took notes on each ignite talk and I feel he put my question in a better way than me. Also I'm very impress on how cool my classmate's big question are, I never thought of some of their questions before but now I'm interest on knowing more.

A small conversation

So today I came to my second period, and when entering the room, it was no one but Dr. Preston. Then I asked him why did he decided to stop teaching at UCLA and move to Santa Maria. The conversation was a small talk but the importance was that once we view the world in a different way, we can be able to change our way of thinking and do things to benefit more people rather than just one. By the way I’m NOT saying Dr. Preston did not influenced people at UCLA.

THE PEDESTRIAN

What is the theme of  "The Pedestrian"?  The theme of "The Pedestrian" is form by the exposition, tone, and diction/syntax. One way to describe the theme is mysterious or intense. How does Bradbury get this message across?  How do you  k now? I believed Bradbury got his message across because although he experience being stopped by the police he combined his experience about the police  event with his vision on self driving cars. In my opinion he did spread out his message because in a way, he predicted that in the future people would not need to go for a walk, because with the new technology they can just stay home, also he visualized self driving cars which now days we see all of these things happen.  Describe the tone of the story. The tone of the story is composed by the background information. We been told at the beginning of the story that is winter night. The seasons helps built the tone because it's more intense ...

The Cycle Continues ( The Great Gatsby Essay)

Prompt: Does The Great Gatsby symbolized a time period in the U.S, or can it be related to different times. If so, how does the characters show similarities from the different time periods.       Author F. Scott Fitzgerald is one of American best writers of the 20th century. He accomplished success by his unique way of writing. During the 20th century was also the Jazz Age which was  influential for Fitzgerald writing. Higher Ed Week

So today was Higher Ed. Week, there was approximately 38 universities representatives, and they spoke to all juniors (SMHS). This event took place on2nd and 3rd period. The importance of this event was to explore the different colleges in the state and out of state and what they offered. For example, I didn't knew anything about University of Idaho, now I know they have a great engineer program as well as California State University Chico. I learned about UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, University of the Pacific, and Chico State. I was able to filled out  a paper to get more information about the colleges. I believe this event was meaningful, because there was some colleges I knew, however there were some , I did not have any knowledge about.

Reading Time!

Is a cold evening, and a cup of tea can make a perfect time to read? It's currently 8:00pm, and I'm about to started reading The Great Gatsby. The weather outside is windy and cold (rain its in is way), I'm setting in front of my bedroom's window, drinking some tea (I'm sick), and I realize it's the perfect time to read.

WILD WEDNESDAY

Today, after taking a quiz in my English class we had the rest of the period to either work on our Big Question project, or life after high school. I personally worked on life after high school. I did some researches on scholarships, since I'm planning to assist  ac college after high school. This represents an empowering first step toward something I want. Because I have a busy schedule after school and having one day in one class where I can focus on researching for scholarships is going to be really helpful for me by not stressing out, and actually getting things done.

how I relief stress!

I been dealing with time management along time ago. Whenever I feel I have a good control of my time, somethings shows up and makes changes. For example, this second semester I was doing pretty good managing schooling, doing homework, taking breaks, feeding, and do things without being too pressure. However, yesterday ( Feb. 20) I felt like my teachers gave too much homework. Out of seven classes, I had homework from six classes. I'm not complaining about how many classes gave me homework but the amount of homework given.I was super stressed out, and went to sleep pretty late (1:30am) and having to wake up at 6:00am to get ready to school. Yesterday I wasn't even talking with my siblings to make sure I didn't lose time. Yet, I gave my self little breaks because I wouldn't be able to do all assignments at once. Today, in the morning I woke up and felt so much better that I did finished my work and I didn't had to worry about it. Then, I realized how we're not alw...

However I made a mistake at the last part, and I know I was doing good but just one part got me insecure. Hopefully I passed test, but if not It means I need to practice more.
